We really do need to convince Bill Polian to be a guest co-writer for one of the Dopey Report Cards this season. It would be both magical and cathartic.

I would give the Run Defense a D+. They gave up 2 TDS, one of which was relatively long, while basically not touching the running back. Yes, Jacksonville’s overall running game did not put up big numbers, but it was a very workable complement to their passing game--they got the job done, ultimately. If we had that kind of complimentary running from anyone other than AR, we might well have won the game. On another topic, I’m super encouraged by AR. If he can stay healthy, I think he’s so much more fun to watch than what we saw from the QB position last season. Thanks for bringing back the DRC! I’m trying to recall what it was called pre-Polian’s comment?

Bob, enjoyed reading the report card this morning. I'll look forward to it each Monday morning. It is most enjoyable after a Colts defeat which I'd guess will be fairly often in 2023. Regardless, I thought Richardson's debut was better then expected and he showed up better than the two guys drafted ahead of him.

I don’t mind pulling the trigger on fourth down. But when you only need a yard and your QB is pushing 250, a pitch to Jackson on outside probably isn’t your best shot.

Welcome back Dopey Report Card! Pretty fair assessment based on watching the game from home. If JT returns game 5, we may get some idea of how much the run game problems are due to poor RB performance vs poor O line run blocking. Hopefully AR will be hearing the same message from lots of experienced NFL QBs: learn to protect yourself asap!
