I'm calling it now. Every season, Richardson will light it up for the first part of the season, we'll say "This is our year!" and then he will be out for the season by week 7. We'll repeat for 3-4 years. Remember "Jonathan Bender will be a superstar if he can just stay healthy a whole season?" Yeah... As they say in Star Wars, "I have a bad feeling about this."

Don’t forget what we went through as fans in 2011 also. Peyton‘s neck. I remember hearing stories during that opening loss to the Texans with Kerry Collins that Peyton was “getting close” to coming back, and we all know how that turned out. There’s a lot of scar tissue with this fan base when it comes to quarterbacks rehabbing injuries.

Bob. First, good stuff as usual. Second, not sure how good Richardson can be as a quarterback just becuase he is athletic (when healthy). Third, old is relative. Maybe this should be musings of a cantakerous sportswriter. Better fit. Regardless, keep at it, kid.

I read and heard this- and PTSD ensued. You are 100% right, Bob. I was fine running it back with the team we had- assuming Richardson was healthy. This scares me to death.

Trey Lance 2.0. I hope that I’m wrong, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Who’s ready to watch another 9-8 season, this time with Flacco? Bob, what backups do you think will be available next season that can also get us to 9-8? Exciting times!

Obviously hoping you’re wrong, however, your title was enough to make me sick to my stomach.

Great article, very accurately represents myself and what I perceive to be much of the fanbase.
