We know: The Colts refuse to trade the star running back. They're also refusing to pay their star running back what he wants. If this is still an issue in two weeks, trade him. Just...trade him.
A person can be intelligent and deluded at the same time. When you're a star athlete (or celebrity, or CEO or whatever), and everyone in your inner circle (including your agent) is telling you want to hear to stay in your good graces, then this can lead to an exaggerated sense of self-importance that's not grounded in reality.
I don't blame Taylor one bit for wanting a new contract, and for wanting to feel appreciated for all that he has done for the Colts (which is a lot). But when your best year was 2 years ago, and you're coming off an ankle surgery, and still "not 100%", oh, and you may or may not have a back issue, and you think that you're going to somehow reset the market for running backs (if, in fact, that is what Taylor wants) then that is where delusion enters the picture.
I just hope the Colts AND Taylor come to their senses and reach some sort of compromise.
Your buddy Doyel likes to blame the agent. I blame the player who has a shit attitude. If Peyton can get fired for doing everything right, JT can get fired for handling this the wrong way.
Trade him but only if you get a significant haul. Otherwise, let him sit and sulk.

Since he’s traveling with the team to Philly, they should just trade him for James Harden.
