Bob, you say that Pierce doesn't catch a ton of balls, but wouldn't that be because of the number of targets he gets? I'm pretty sure he'd catch more if he got more. The thing with the Colts receiving core is that there's just too much ball distribution for any one player to rise above the rest. It's much easier to become a receiving star on a team that doesn't have a lot of options, when you get the lion's share of targets.

Further, Bob - you were not the biggest Pierce fan for his first few years - how do you feel now? Do you think he's one we should resign when his rookie contract expires?

It would depend on the price. I won’t overpay to keep him

As a stat nerd, I know that averages are susceptible to outliers. In this case, JT's 80-yard TD run definitely skewed the numbers to the positive. But even with that being taken out of the equation, their average only dropped from 9.1 to 4.9 per carry. 4.9 per carry is still pretty gaudy and it's a HUGE testament to the O line like you said Bob

Yes, the outliers skew the stats. But isn't that always the case for elite players? They tend to produce "outliers" on a consistent basis, which is why they're elite.

Absolutely and don't get me wrong, this wasn't a criticism in any way. It was more of an appreciation of just how dominant of a game it was

I had to laugh yesterday when I heard a comment by one of the game commentators that the TN punter had punted 1000x in his career. Like, doesn’t that mean you’ve played for bad teams? Not sure that’s a stat to be proud of, somehow!
