I don’t think Halliburton is overrated at all. I believe that he has the ability to score if he wants to. He is such a good facilitator with the ball that he doesn’t always look for his shot.
I think Rick Carlyle is a great professional coach and we’re lucky to have him. This team has transformed and grown under his direction. It’s fun to watch.
Ya gotta know Ty is hurt. Anyone would be. But his responses show class and not a small amount of maturity. I’m a bigger fan of his today than before this shit poll. Well put Bob.
Best way to rate a player - "Would you love to have him on your team?" - I know I am glad to have him playing for the Pacers. Looking at ages/health of other star players in the league, I'm not sure if there is a handful I would prefer. Keep it going!
There is some reason players feel this way. That's what I'd like to hear. I doubt this is a conspiracy. My assumption has always been that he was well liked and respected as a player. Some of me wonders if it goes back to the small market thing. "The Pacers can't be that good and neither can Halliburton." I imagine you hear things. What are you hearing?
Haliburton is 24 with time to grow and didn’t even make the all star team. If anything showing up on the overrated list means the players are noticing him. He may very well be one of the very best players in the league in 2-3 years and with that comes a lot of haters, just like LeBron said.
Please understand he’s an Olympian as selected by objective and great coaches for a great goal. That’s not anonymous polling; that’s proof in the pudding. He is one of the elite players with a long run way for his future. But right now he is a superstar regardless of some envious and anonymous Bucks, Knicks and one or two former Pacers.
Totally agree. He’s likely the point guard on the next Olympic team. Plus, if people actually watched the Pacers, he makes them move and they are one of the best running and transition teams in the league.
Haliburton consistently going 10+ assists and zero turnovers game after game and somehow people criticize him is just slightly less ridiculous as when people said Russ Westbrook was stat chasing and not actually an elite player when he was averaging a triple double. If it’s so easy how come everyone else isn’t doing it?
gotta offer some props to Myles Turner, too.
His effective range has been impressive, as well as some timely basket defense.
