A’ja Wilson is a race baiter. Pure and simple. Tune her out because she’s not worth listening to about anything.

Nike brought this upon themselves and it’s continued. Caitlin Clark doesn’t have a shoe - and still nobody knows when she will.

The U.S National Team had nothing to do with the Trump administration policies. It's okay though because they went in there and whipped the sorry Canadians at their own game! Way to go Canadian fans! Give the US team all the motivation and energy they needed! Trump indirectly wins again!

Thankfully strength is being restored to the United States of America and the world better take notice that there are adults in charge now. The last 4 years of the snowflake senile administration was about to bring us to complete ruin.

I love the fact that socialists are booing us now rather than applauding us as they would if cackling Harris was elected. Please, please, please Democrats put her out again in 2028 against JD Vance!!

Exactly! MAGA loves their Kool-Aid spoon fed so they can regurgitate that bullshit. Solid is the density between this knucklehead’s ears.

The Canadians booing the US team was mentioned in the column. My comment was about the same event. "Way off topic" or your feelings are hurt?

When our family was on the road during the 1981 Final Four, we listened to Don Fischer call the 11-0 run to start the second half against LSU. When IU played at Wisconsin in 1987, we didn't have cable and the game was on ESPN, I listened to Don Fischer call the Dean Garrett put-back of a Joe Hillman airball to give IU a 3OT win. Of course I listened Fischer many more times, but not as often once every game was on TV, but recently with IU playing Michigan State on Peacock (I don't subscribe) I found Fischer again and he is absolutely as good as I remember from the 80s. (Seriously, "Eyes! Flies! HITS!" sounds the same for Mgbako as it did for Alford.) Mike Woodson was brought in to supposedly get the "IU Family" back involved in the basketball program and few people have been more present for the highest and lowest moments of that family than Don Fischer. I can see how it might sting a man who has called so many great moments for IU fans the past half-century to be considered unworthy of a few contractually obligated appearances from one of the players and coaches whose great moments he described to the radio-listening world.

I respectfully disagree on the anthem booing for this reason. I don't believe anyone should boo any anthem. The person chosen to present the anthem is not at fault for any country's government and deserves the respect of being heard. That's just how I feel about it - no matter who is in power.

I have said this many times to friends and family-- I watch sports, as do most people I know, to enjoy a break from day-to-day realities: work, politics, house chores, family drama, etc... In the past 5 years, too many sports articles and sports program start interjecting political commentary. Canada is not a geopolitical foe-- but the Canadian government has confiscated the bank accounts of truckers who protested; left our northern boarder unprotected from drug smugglers and other people with bad intentions; and has not done its fair share of investing in military strength to protect North America-- and left that bill to USA tax-payers. I know the Canadian citizens likely don't want to join the USA-- but their leadership needs to step up and protect North America from criminals and threats from China, North Korea, Iran and others-- and they are falling short. I'd love it if sports stuck to sports. They booed = fact. Why they booed? Political speculation without interviewing them all.

I grew up in a devout televisionless family in rural Indiana, and to me Don Fischer (and Max and of course RMK) was Indiana basketball.

I still remember hearing Smart’s jumper in ‘87, outside next to the shed where our hoop was in the gravel driveway.

Nowadays, I own one of Satan’s screens and I’ve watched most of Woodson’s press conferences.

I’ve never not one strategic comment that would lead me to believe that he knows anything beyond 7th grade level of basketball.

Over the years, they sometimes run good post stuff and occasionally even stuff for shooters, which shows he can coach a little.

But why are basketball insights to the press as frequent as his zone play? Maybe he looks down his nose at the press. Or maybe even anyone not kissing the behind of Mike Woodson.

But good God almighty, can’t you make one exception for Don Fischer?

Bob - not saying they would do it but can’t IU fire Woodson for cause since he is not doing contractually obligated task?

My only problem with Four Nations is only four teams participating, and two of the nation's tiny. Could We get four more teams next time around? I would like to see Russia, France and Germany in there, plus some other hockey crazy nation.

I would argue that Sweden and Finland are hockey crazy nations. I would also argue that no other country has enough NHLers to field a team.

As for Russia, well, you know.

If I were Canadian I would boo the USA National Anthem as well.

The reason there will not be any NBA international competition similar to the awesome hockey one is the US players are not interested. What, us work?

Twelve is too many playoff teams in football. 64 is the right number in basketball. Ugh.

And as for Wilson, with respect to Col Jessup, “I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way,”
