In his first media session in months, a smiling Jonathan Taylor digs deep to say nothing

The Colts' running back wouldn't acknowledge the hold-in, the trade request, the desire for an extension...none of it. But he did B.S. Yes, he loaded up on the B.S.

The real question now is, can Jonathan Taylor run effectively with his tail between his legs?

In the span of 11 minutes and 46 seconds, Taylor met with the local media Thursday for the first time since April and danced around any and all questions regarding his desired contract extension and trade request.

In fact, he made it sound – correction, tried to make it sound – like the contract and trade talks never happened and all this nonsense the last four months has been related to his injured ankle. “Just trying to get healthy,” he said.

Which is nonsense.

Talk about insulting the intelligence of the fans and media.

The only time he spoke openly and honestly – and possibly unintentionally -- was when he was asked how committed he is to playing for the Indianapolis Colts.

“I don’t think it matters if I’m saying I’m committed because I’m here,” he said, wearing a constant smile after months of scowling. “If somebody wasn‘t committed, they wouldn’t be here. Right now, I’m here and my No. 1 goal is to really…”

Wait.

Stop right there.

“Right now, I’m here…” he said.
