They started with a Georgia linebacker and an LSU safety. Faster, younger, less expensive alternatives to Zaire Franklin and Nick Cross. Now Day 3 beckons.
Jones - recovering from major injury, Pierce, recovering from ankle surgery, Buckner, recovering from neck surgery, Ward - how many more concussions - Gardner - calf injury - yeah those have turned out well in Indy - Luck ring a bell. If we could get all our talent on the field and they could stay there for a season - we would be ok - but the reality is everyone deals with Injury in the NFL and our lack of depth is apparent - and who is to blame for that... San Francisco's starting Defense was decimated and starting QB out multiple games - and they make a deep playoff run - they have some depth and a Coach who can get them to play. The lack of accountability for basic execution - build some depth as injury rate is 100% and get a coach who can make the best of the talent they have - not who they don't have...
Ballard keeps getting killed for a lot of his draft picks and his inability to find a QB. But let’s go back to the 2023 draft. With the 4th pick, who would YOU have taken. I am on record as saying “Anybody but Richardson.” In the interest of full disclosure, I would have taken another position of need and taken a flyer on Hendon Hooker in the second round. I guess that would have got me fired, eh?
Mike - I believe Irsay made that pick and installed him as starting QB. Combined with the Reich firing and the ensuing fiasco, It might’ve been time for Ballard to hit the road
Ballard's job is not in jeopardy. This franchise is a mess and they could not care less about fielding a championship, that is a divisional championship, team.
"For the Shoe". The shoe that keeps stepping in pile after pile of manure.

Just average players. Staring at 8-9 again

Good assessment. To use an old cliche, Colts fans need to hope all the stars align in the team’s favor.
